Privacy Policy

The short version

Golf Trip Hero collects the information you give us to run the app. We don't sell it. We don't spam you. We use it to help you and your crew organize golf trips, track scores, and settle up. That's it.

What we collect

• Account info — your name, email address, and password when you sign up.
• Profile info — your golf handicap, profile photo, and payment handles (Venmo and/or Cash App) if you choose to add them. All optional except name and email.
• Trip and round data — trip names, courses, dates, scores, game settings, and payout information you enter into the app.
• Clubhouse content — messages and photos you post in a trip's group chat.
• Usage data — basic information about how you use the app (pages visited, features used) collected automatically by our hosting provider.
• Device info — browser type, operating system, and IP address collected automatically.

How we use it

• To create and manage your account.
• To run the app — organizing trips, tracking scores, displaying leaderboards, and facilitating payouts.
• To send you account-related emails (password resets, important updates). We do not send marketing email without your explicit consent.
• To improve the app based on how it's being used.
• To comply with legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the services that power the app:

• Supabase — our database and authentication provider. Your data is stored on Supabase servers. Supabase Privacy Policy.
• Vercel — our hosting provider. Vercel Privacy Policy.
• Other trip members — your name, profile photo, handicap, and scores are visible to other players on trips you join. Your Venmo/Cash App handles are visible to trip captains to facilitate payouts.

Marketing communications

By creating a Golf Trip Hero account, you consent to receive marketing communications from us via email and SMS. This may include product updates, new features, promotions, golf-related offers, and affiliate recommendations we think you'll find useful.

• You can unsubscribe from email communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
• You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any text we send.
• Opting out of marketing communications does not affect transactional messages related to your account (password resets, security alerts, etc.).

Payments

Golf Trip Hero does not process payments. We display links to Venmo and Cash App to make it easy for players to pay trip captains. Any financial transactions happen directly between users through those third-party platforms. We are not a party to those transactions and accept no responsibility for them.

Affiliate links

Golf Trip Hero may display links to third-party products, services, or golf-related resources. Some of these may be affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you make a purchase through them — at no additional cost to you. We will clearly disclose when a link is an affiliate link.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you logged in and to maintain your session. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Your rights

• Access — you can view all your profile data in the app at any time.
• Correction — you can update your profile info in your account settings.
• Deletion — you can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us. We will process requests within 30 days.
• Portability — you can request a copy of your data by emailing us.

If you are located in the EU or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.

Children

Golf Trip Hero is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
